　　关于“读书无用论”，一千个人有一千种说法。嗤之以鼻，强烈拥护，不置可否...咪蒙作为一个旁观者，说出了她的观点。另维则在下篇文章中给出了一个学生的一种看法。但旁人的了解总是不免有失偏颇，作为教育的直接参与者与引导者，教师对于他们的职业，对于教育本身，对于这个论题，又有什么想要说的呢?

　　This talk is about “what teachers make” or “objection overruled” or “if things don’t work out, you can always go to law school”.

　　这个演讲是关于“老师能做到什么”或者“反对无效”或者“如果万事不顺，你永远可以去上法学院”。

　　He(a lawyer around the dinner table) says the problem with teachers is “what’s a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?” (Hahaha)

　　那个律师在饭桌上问我们，“如果一个人最好的选择也就是当个老师，小孩子们能从他那里学会点什么呢?”

　　He reminds the other dinner guests that it is true what they say about teachers, “those who can, do and those who can’t, teach.”(hahaha)

　　他告诉其他来宾，说那些关于老师的段子都千真万确，“会做事的人都去做事了，不会做事的人才去当老师。”(霸王花注：关于原文里Those who can, do; those who can’t, teach.这句话，The Big Bang Theory里面有一集，Penny因为在LA做演员做不下去了，在Leonard问她准备怎么办的时候，她回答实在不行的话只好回Nebraska教表演。然后Sheldon在一边，因为他一直觉得Leonard的物理专业水平是subpar的，所以就问Leonard他是否考虑教物理。 这句话也就说的这种情况。大部分美国人还是比较不看好教师这个职业的。)

　　I decide to bite my tongue instead of his and resist the urge to remind the other dinner guests that it’s also true what they say about lawyers because we are eating after all and this is suppose to be a polite conversation.

　　我决定咬紧牙关先别给他打脸，努力克制自己跟大家说“那些关于律师的段子也都是真的”的欲望。毕竟我们还在饭桌上，应该有礼貌地谈话。

　　"I mean you are a teacher Taylor. Come on, be honest, what do you make? (Posture) ”

　　然而他并不停歇地追问：“嘿，你就是个老师啊，Taylor。说实话，你赚的多不多?”他搓搓手指，想要谈钱。
